I love you...I love you not!

REMEMBER when I posed the question is Kate Moss becoming a has been? Well this one's getting tough...Kate proved us wrong today by creating a buzz beyond massive, across the pond in London town. Top Shop has been taken over, and the British invasion is about begin. Kate's collection was available online at 11:00pm giving non Brits the chance to scoop up some of Kate's gear. Too many tried to get on the site, and thanks to those bitches, the server is down! I guess I'll just have to wait to get one of those killer floor length skirts.

I actually wanted something. There I said it, I admit it. I logged on, and tried to get my share of the CoKate for Top Shop collection. No luck.

(P.s. In case you haven't noticed, my myspace page is up so send me a little hello!)

Were any of you able to score something? fill us in... I want details.

And more thing: PETE'S IN REHAB AGAIN. Does this bring you right back to loving her not?

Dogs in a cage

ONE of my favorite things about Manhattan are the dog runs. A place where dogs can be dogs, roll around and get dirty and play while their owners also get a chance to mingle. Some single New Yorkers even think dog runs are a great meet market and it's definately somewhat of a pick up scene. The dog run for small dogs in Washinton Square park is one of the best in the city, and lots of celebs live in the area, so it makes for great people (and puppy) watching.

I was hanging out and enjoying the sun with my puppy and in comes the lead singers from The Strokes, Julian Casablancas with his equally hot wife, Juliet. Although I recognized him, I did what every New Yorker would have done... I left him the hell alone. He came in with an adorable puppy Shiba, and a frisky little Jack Russell Terrier. Julien and Juliet make a hot couple, and just ooze sex appeal. Even their dogs are ridiculously ridiculously good looking.

A match made in rocker heaven!

So how is this fashion related you ask? Well here's a little fashion tidbit: Julian is the son of John Casablancas founder of powerhouse, Elite Model Management and his mom Jeanette was Miss Denmark 1965. So does this make him fashion royalty?

"Heart in a cage" The Strokes starring our beautiful muse, Julien.

I think so. Julien's been officially crowned.

Back on board

SARAH Jessica Parker speaks about her "Bitten" line, and talks about going from hand me downs to style icon status. She talks about the "philosophy of Steve and Barry's" for affordable, well made "slightly trendy clothes" that she just couldn't say no. Click HERE to listen to the interview about bitten, straight from the horses mouth (no pun intended).

What "Bitten" is:
  • An affordable line for those who are style and budget conscious.

  • "Slightly trendy clothes" made for those who wouldn't normally have access to this kind of line.

  • Clothing that is mass produced, yet won't fall apart a week after you wear it.

  • Every single piece costs under $20.00.
Sorry if you were mistaken people, but bitten isn't Net-a-porter. I think a lot of us were so critical early on, because we imagined something edgier, and high fashion. Well high fashion it isn't. This line isn't Carrie Bradshaw inspired, and no Patricia Field didn't work on it either. Although I was a bit put off by the leaked photos (which I can't post because her legal team are vicious pit bulls) I will say that in all fairness, Bitten is a great concept. I'm back on board.

Although you may get your inspiration from Vogue, most young people in America (and around the world for that matter) cannot afford most designer clothing. Trust me, even I Ms. Model Citizen, do not have a closet full of Valentino, or Phillip Lim (whom I'm totally digging right now by the way). Bitten is for the youth, for women who like to mix high end/low end and for the women who just want to wear "slightly trendy" clothes without having to bounce their rent checks.

So kudos to SJP, because in all honesty, she could have "sold out" and done a line with any high end retail chain, but she didn't. She chose to make clothes that were fun, durable for their price range, easily accessible, and the best part of all, completely affordable.

Eh eh eh eh...

HERE'S the new video for Rihanna's catchy song "Umbrella" which is currently a hit in the U.S.

The song is beyond catchy and the chorus seems to be inspired from the Cranberries "zombie".

I love that Rihanna isn't afraid to take risks in this video, and although it's a hip hop video, she gives it a fashion forward edge that so many hip hop videos lack...

p.s. did you know she's the new Cover Girl?

Style rule number 12,345

Never, ever be the last to leave a party.

Trust me, this rule applies to just about every endeavor in life. A real star doesn't wait for the limelight to fade, she steps out while she's still on top, always to be remembered in her glory.

KATE MOSS'S career has been outstanding, with more highs than lows, yet all the Pete Doherty drama has slowly taken away from her appeal. She's peaked, reinvented herself, been surrounded by drama, only to reinvent herself again, and quite frankly, I'm getting kind of tired of her behavior. It's gotten to the point, that her persona upstages any clothing. Sure we all love a bad girl, but do we really love a model with a druggie boyfriend that has more run ins with the law than Naomi Campbell?
I'm all for giving people second, third, and fourth chances, but the time has come where I'm questioning my loyalty to Kate as a consumer. I'm more excited that Irina is in the top shop campaign then about the line itself.

Well anyway, here's a little preview of some photos that are set to be auctioned at Christie's in London on May 31st.

This" never before seen" picture was taken when she was just 19 (only a year after being "discovered" at NYC's JFK airport) by Corinne Day and is rumored to go for no less than $9,500.00. (As someone pointed out in the comment section, they've seen this picture before, well so have many of us...don't know why they say it's a "never seen before" pic, but it is what it is...

Beautiful, but nothing that we haven't seen before.

So tell me darlings, has Kate Moss ran her course? will you remember her as the iconic Calvin Klein girl turned supermodel? or will you always remember her for what she is slowly becoming... dare I say it, a has been?

Scarlett Johansson shops for a prom dress

Funny funny!

Doesn't her jacket look similar to THIS hot Miu Miu cropped satin jacket which I've been obessesing over?

So tell us how you really feel

The things that come out of Lily Allen's mouth never fail to amuse me. Here are some excerpts from Lily's interview with the UK Times Online.

Lily Allen on:
Getting Gucci's new "it" bag the Indy (free swag):
“It’s soooo Sarah Harding”, referring to the brash, blonde Girls Aloud member, before delivering her final, damning verdict: “It’s f***ing vile.”

On her "fashion icon" status:
“It makes me laugh, I don’t take it in. I’m in denial about it. I don’t know if I believe it.

I’m a very self-deprecating person. I am still convinced that everyone hates me. I still feel like I am 15 years old in school, desperately trying to fight for everyone to like me. Even though I’ve sold 1m records and had a No 1 single, I still feel pretty pathetic...I definitely don’t think of myself as any trendsetting, cool person.”

On her front row status at all the Paris shows:
“The reason I went to the shows was to get the free stuff. I went to the YSL show, and they did that thing of saying, 'Come to the shop and choose what you want'."

On not being the celebrity thin ideal:
“I’m 21 years old, I’m a pretty normal weight — leave me the f*** alone.”

Read about her upcoming fashion line, and the rest of the interview here.

Sure she curses like a sailor, but don't you just love a girl that can rock a pair of trainers with couture?

Since I've been gone...

Since I've been gone, I landed a major book deal, and I'm working on securing rights for a film. Um yeah, I'm completely fibbing. I don't have much to say for my unexcused absence, except that you've been missed... but that would be lovely wouldn't it? blogger turned film producer? A blogger can dream.

So, back to our reality. I've been eying this Luella Geek Print Shopper that just arrived at Net-a-porter and the "Geek" in me totally knows it's wearable.

Yes this bag is beyond self deprecating, and who in their right mind would walk down the street carrying a bag with “GEEK” written on it?! (me!). This quirky little bag should be paired up with this season's best accessory, a smile. What girl doesn't love an "it" bag, but honestly, these "it" bags are so played out, I'm rebelling, and carrying this bag. Ladies (and gentlemen) THIS is the anti-it "it" bag.

The inside is roomy, and surprisingly chic. Who would have expected this canvas bag to sneak up on you with a little touch of striped glamour? It's an added little luxury in this fun bag.

I’d seriously carry this bag with no hesitation. Paired up with my killer outfit, I know it will make the boys smile, which totally justifies the $195.00 price tag.

Poster child for pro ana?

I was browsing the Internet today, and found this chilling pro anorexic clip on Snejana titled THINspiration. Thinspiration is the term given to visuals of thin women/men by pro anorexics to inspire them to achieve their goal in staying thin. Apparently, Snejana is one of the most popular thinspiration role models among those endorsing eating disorders. Snejana's pictures are used to inspire themselves to not eat, and her thin body is considered ideal.

I'm all for freedom of speech, but where should creative liberty and freedom of expression draw the line? I don’t know if Snejana has an eating disorder or not, and I am not implying that she does, but I am sure that she and other models shown in these videos are unwillingly designated poster children of anorexia. Because there is very little censorchip on You Tube, these videos are accessed by thousands of young girls who struggle with eating disorders on a daily basis.

Should You Tube remove all thinspiration videos? I'm really curious as to what you guys all think about this. Please share your thoughts...

P.S. One of the user comments for this video says that it sucks that Snejana was dropped from IMG's board. Could this true?

UPDATE: I was confused because I didn't think that she was with IMG- so I called IMG this morning anyway, to see if she was dropped, and the receptionist said he didn't know who Snejana was. WTF?! even if she isn't with IMG, i'm sure he knew who she is...But there must be some truth to this... I wonder what these "issues" that made her so difficult to work with.
And by the way...she's with DNA. Where has she been?

Recycled art

Fashion is art and art is life, but does life imitate art or does art imitate life? Here are some examples of high fashion channeling high art. .

"Midsummer Eve" Edward Huges
Lily Cole

The similarities in this one are uncanny. Lily has the face of a porcelain doll, and often looks like something straight out of an art history book. She has that unconventional timeless beauty that trancends. I wonder if the casting agent or designers had this in mind when they casted her in this show...

"Female Head" Leonardo da Vinci
Daria Webworvy

Did Daria have a past life? If she did, I'm assuming that she was da Vinci's muse.

"Mona Lisa" Leonardo da Vinci

Irina LazareanuOh Irina. A while ago, I promised myself that I will move on. That I will cover "fresh" faces, and not continue raving about you...but I can't. Your look haunts me. Yes I love your Kate Moss for Top Shop campaign, and I believe that you are indeed one of the few models whose career will last. So I guess I'll let myself slide this one posting in this lovely little blog of mine.

Mona Lisa's smile's got some serious competition.

Hot garbage

Guess who's playing house with Jessica Stam? None other than the DJ better known as Nicole Richie's ex (DJ AM). Major downgrade.

I'm not letting the praise of others affect me. Yes this is none of my business, but I'm keeping my stance. WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS WRONG WITH YOU STAM? DJ AM??!!? This brings your status down a notch in my book.

Dammit, make it stop. I'm still not giving in to this madness...

What do you all think about Stam's new boy toy? I for one, hate it. Talking about dating down. It's like dating the ugly kid in school because you felt sorry for him. Grownups call it a pity fuck. Same thing. Either way, not a good look.

p.s. got the Mika album. Hot.
