Have a fabulous New Year!

From footless tights to skinny jeans, this year was definitely full of fun fashion. Heidi Klum gave birth (again,)Kate and Pete broke up, got back together, and broke up again (times three!) We discovered that Lindsay Lohan had a Firecrotch and Britney Spears doesn't wear panties. Miss USA got a break, but Miss Nevada, Katie Ress wasn't spared from The Donald's wrath. Italy declared "The war on the waifs" and Balenciaga's Biker bag was worn by one too many people...

It was a good year. I'll be watching Ugly Betty reruns all morning, and then having a low key dinner with the family tonight. I'll get my share of partying tuesday night at Marquee! Thanks for being a part of the Please Don't Feed The Models fashion squad...you ain't seen nothing yet!

Happy New Year!

Time for the Dancefloor

Dolce & Gabbana's new Time ad is everything you'd expect it to be...sexy and PG 13.

The song is "Dancefloor" by Stylophonic. It's very euro, very sexy, very "street chic", very Dolce.

Are hotpants really making a comeback?

The Secret's out!

Because going "commando" isn't that cool (or lady like,) Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Sale starts January 3rd. I really like their PINK! Line for those lazy Sunday afternoons. Love the sales, but oh, how I hate the crowds!

When Christian's go bad

Socialite Birdie Bell wears the Christian's I've been raving about...

I spotted this picture over at Go Fug Yourself.

That heel, those red soles, but the shoes look awful!?! How do I sum up this outfit?

One word: Horrendous.

Top Model

Oh how I love Gemma!

IMG's Princess, Gemma Ward is currently standing strong as the top model on Models.com.

Her new Louis Vuitton campaign is on fire!

Scarlett wasn't a great choice for the campaign, and she just doesn't scream luxury to me. Gemma steps it up, bringing the illusion and "aspirational" beauty to the brand, the way a real model is supposed to. As far as I'm concerned, actors can (with a few minor exceptions) stay in Hollywood, and let the real models do what they do best.

Tell me you love me...

Here are some familiar faces from Victoria Secret's holiday commercial.

Now, if only I looked that great in my Victoria Secret, there would be no need for clothes.

Miss Nevada, No Model Citizen

Home of Legal prostitution, Katie Ress, Miss Nevada has been stripped of her title. Literally.

Katie pulled a Britney, and pictures have been leaked with what looks like her feature [porn] film debut, but The Donald is NOT having it.

And these pictures explain it all.

* Warning * These pictures are quite pornographic in nature.
Do NOT open these at work!

What do you suppose she did in the "talent" segment for the pageant?

Ladies...If you're going to be in the public eye, DONT TAKE INCRIMINATING PICTURES. Thats all.

Oh the tangled web we weave.

Designer doubletake

Think you know fashion? Pick the real Christian Louboutins. I dare you...

Could it be this one?

Or maybe these??

Click Here for the real Christians, and Click Here for the "other" pair.

Almost identical, except one is $500.00 less than the original. (P.S. The real Christian's are the second pair)

MISSING CHIHUAHUA

Sorry to break it to you, but that Sean Jean "Faux Fur" jacket you love so much... might be made out of DOG. Yes dogs, the WOOF WOOF kind.

The Humane Society Of The United States (HSUS) claim Macy's department store chain is selling a coat advertised as having an "imitation rabbit fur collar" and "nylon/faux fur/goose down".
The HSUS bought the article, only to find the labels stated the jacket was made from "genuine raccoon fur".
The HSUS is doing DNA testing on the fur to determine whether or not the fur is raccoon dog, a breed of Chinese dog whose fur resembles racoon.
If DNA tests prove conclusive, Macy's will remove the coats from their stores because they have a strict no dog or cat fur policy.

I couldn't make this stuff up.
Even if I tried.

Rehab is the new black!

Tara Conner gets lucky... quite figuratively!

Donald Trump isn't known for his softness, but somewhere down there in the cruel little heart lies some compassion. Perhaps the holiday season had something to do with this?

Tara Conner gets to keep her crown, and we get to savor the drama. Everybody's happy.

The Donald should be thanking her for all this free publicity, and cut this girl a check!! Miss USA? When was the last time you watched the pageant?
Now, thanks to Tara, I'll bet you a pair of Jimmy Choo's that you'll be tuning in next year.

Maybe Lindsay or Britney or even Tara Reid can be judges, and Victoria's Secret can sponsor!?!

God bless America!

Grade school chic

Dakota Fanning is the new face of Marc Jacobs. Seriously.

A 12 year old as the face of Marc Jacobs? I suppose that we as women are being encourage to revert to our youth on a daily basis, but this is absurd. I love little Dakota, but when I think fashion, I think whimsical and sexy, not whimsical and grade school. Dakota is so small the clothes had to be custom made for her.

beginning this February, the child actress will grace the ad pages of edgy fashion magazines W and Vogue. Yes, that's grown-up Vogue — not Teen Vogue, where she previously appeared in an editorial spread. And it's no matter that she recently got braces. She'll be wearing couture from the Marc Jacobs collection, in sizes made specially for the photo shoot.

"Marc loves her character and thinks she is beautiful and a great actress," Marc Jacobs president Robert Duffy was quoted as saying. "He loved the idea of having this young, small girl in the clothes, and we made them in her size to shoot her in."

So not a good idea.

The skinny on models; The drama continues

President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Dianne Von Furstenberg
weighs in on the issue and calls national attention to the issue. The
letter was targeted to fashion's heavy hitters including Anna Wintour.

The letter called dangerously thin models a "global fashion issue." Further, Von Furstenberg
wrote that "as designers, we cannot ignore the impact fashion has on
body image. We share a responsibility to protect women, and very young
girls in particular, within the industry, sending the message that
health is beauty."

The letter came a day after Nicole Richie's arrest, and was listed as being 85 pounds. I agree that Nicole is skinny, but she isn't 5'9, she's barely 5'2!

DVF has a point, but is it a little too late? will this affect the bookings for Spring shows which are quickly approaching? I'll be watching (hopefully from the front
row)

253 straight days at the gym

Jessica Simpson in the new American commerical for Direct T.V.

Nice way to cash in the dumb blonde persona... Dumb accent? Horrible attire? I'm sure she's laughing all the way to the bank.

Fashion goes beyond mainstream

Steven Spielberg, the visionary that made you cry with E.T., is now in
talks to bringing you a one hour show on all things fashion. The show will be an insight on the fashion world from different perspectives, and walks of life.

The untitled show, being produced for 20th Century Fox TV and DreamWorks Television, is slated to run as an hour long series on Fox. Spielberg tapped Burns to write the series, and Burns brought in his wife. "The project revolves around five 20-somethings who will represent all walks of the fashion world, including
photographer, model, fashion designer and makeup
artist."

I love Christy! I'd love to see the REAL scenarios within the fashion. I want the dram, the pain, the passion and the hunger that drives people in this industry. Don't give me a watered down, novelty show! I've seen all the shows on television (including Ugly Betty which I L.O.V.E) but none, have nailed it, dramatically. Hey Steven, call me if you need a consultant!

I want drama. Give me the drama!

The skinny on models

Too fat. Too skinny! when will the fashion world settle?

How is it even possible to have imposed a standard of beauty for over the past forty plus years, and then switch from one minute to the next?

Now the Italian government is stepping in and intervening with a new law that will regulate the sizes of women who strut the catwalk, and encourage designers to add larger sizes to their
collections, "declaring war on the waifs".

Those signing on to the campaign pledge that the fashion world will start giving importance to "a model of healthy, sunny, full-bodied Mediterranean beauty that Italy has historically contributed" to the international scene.

Is this really the way to go?
Government imposing on fashion? What about government controlling
movies? or censoring music? where should it begin? where should it stop?

I'll be the first to admit that fashion (especially high fashion) caters to
a smaller framed woman. But is this a bad thing? or should couture be available to any and everybody?

Shouldn't the government also be meeting with the skinny police? the bookers of the agencies? While it is a great attempt at touching the surface, it won't completely stop the problem.

Fashion is art. You cannot force someone to create a sculpture in a certain way, nor should the government impose restrictions on a designers collection. Is high fashion even created for the "masses"? Aren't there specialty stores that cater to the petite? the plus sized or the tall?

This is NOT the way to go.

Luxury at the palm of your hands

Girls, get ready to step it up a notch with the Prada phone. LG and Prada are collaborating on a luxury phone (perfection!). Unlike the Dolce gold Razr, this phone will have cool features such as a touch pad (like my Treo).
: The Prada cell phone is supposed to be a combination of high-end technology and avant-garde design - not just a simple paint job. The Prada phone is supposed to have no keys, just a touch screen. The launch of the Prada mobile phone is planned for early 2007. Italy is first.

Bellisimo! I want one.Now.Please?!!??!

Behind the lair...

Fashion's first lady Anna Wintour,
interviewed by Barbra Walters... Not as icy as you would imagine.

Kate to launch perfume...

What do you suppose it will smell like? Roses, Cocaine, Pete?

Because it's never too early to expose your children to consumerism!

Mattel rolls out the Diane Von Furstenberg barbie in for the holidays! I wonder if she comes with her own T. Anthony luggage and Jimmy Choos? But seriously...doesn't this doll look like Janice Dikinson?

Bad publicity?

Is there such a thing? Here's Nicole Richie bouncing back, and looking fab after her arrest.

Not a bad look for the leader of the undercover bad girls club.

Does anyone know what kind of dress she's wearing? I bet it's vintage...

Your'e fired!

Miss America Tara Conner likes to party... a little too much. So much, that The Donald (who is part owner of The Miss USA) pageant is about to decrown the beauty queen. Apparently Tara has been going on Cocaine binges at New York City spots like Marquee and Crobar , hooking up with Miss Teen USA, getting Miss Universe drunk, and bringing random guys back home to Trump Towers. Doesn't she know that door men keep tabs on everything and everyone?. She's not even 21 yet!

Conner's troubles allegedly stem from inappropriate behavior at New York City nightclubs. The beauty queen turns 21 on Monday.

Sources told the New York Post that Conner's issues included substance abuse,
failing to make Miss USA promotional appearances, chafing at other
obligations and nonstop nightclubbing at Big Apple hot spots.

"She makes Paris Hilton look like a baby," a source, who confirmed Conner's conduct has been a concern since summer, told the Post.

And I thought beauty pageants weren't even worth watching! Someone get this girl her own reality show pronto.

Scandalous

Inspired by...Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor's voice is raw and dripping with candid sentiment. Her video isn't too shabby either!

You ARE NOT as fat as you think...

But trust me...

Wear Sunscreen.

Wolford stocking stuffer

Just what every fashionista wants in her Wolford stockings...

The Devil Wears Prada finally on DVD!

Up next... Ugly Betty (hopefully).

Here are the first three minutes of the film. Thats all.

In case you cared...

Crazy Woman/supermodel and drama queen, Naomi Campbell with Tyson Becksford in the new Pirelli Pzero Ad campaign.

Before I get hate mail... Let me just say that I'm STILL not over Naomi's antics.

These pictures look forced, rushed, and not cutting edge, at all.

Still haven't changed my mind.

Nope not yet... Naomi looks like she cannot even breathe in this shot!

These two look like they're enjoying eachothers company as much as Jennifer Anniston enjoyes watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith...

Keep the clothes on, because there is obviously NO CHEMISTRY here. Bland photographs, horrible concept (Wait, IS there a concept here?).

Clothes on. Much better.

The ultimate accessory

So this is what designer babies look like...

His "name" however is another story. It's so bad,I'll save you the details...

So Haute.

Sexy bag

GQ's "Sexiest Woman Alive", Scarlett Johansen is the New queen of LV

I'm still having mixed emotions about these ads...lets see if they grow on me. I'm a very tough critic when it comes to ad campaigns (I miss the decade of the models). Don't know why, but these celebrity endorsements aren't really doing it for me. It's almost as if creative directors are afraid to break the status quo, and go with cutting edge models.

I love Scarlett ( I sat right behind her at the Imitation of Christ fashion show during Olympus fashion week!) but howabout a little Irina? or more Gemma???

Fashion find of the day

I usually don't approach people and ask that all too familiar quetion: "where'd you get that?" but last night at the Hudson Hotel, I saw the prettiest skirt and had to have it!

I was floored when I learned where to score one!

Can you guess who "makes" this skirt? I bet not...

Diamonds...more diamonds!

Because a girl can never had enough bling, cannon brings us the Bejeweled PowerShot Digital ELPH, and we love it!

With over $50,000 dollars worth of real diamonds, this camera is defintately worth taking pictures of.
