W 7 Nail Varnish - Mushroom

I have to say I was really impressed when I had the chance to use this W 7 Nail Varnish. I'm not really a make -up girl (I put my slap on when on the tube and it only takes me 5 minutes) but the one thing I do love is Nail Varnish.  Mushroom is the new colour that emerged at the end of last year and with this W 7 version, the colour is really strong and was really easy to apply. It lasted for about 5 days and I didn't need too many coats for the colour to be strong.  You can purchase W 7 from many on-line stores, so just get google on the case to bring up the best sites and start experimenting with all the glorious colours that have.

Easter Treasure hunt with DKNY

It has been Fashion and Easter mad recently and what better way to celebrate then spending time at my favorite store, DKNY! I was among a few lucky souls to be invited to the Bond Street Store to hunt for some Chocolates and even be the winner of a £600 shopping spree.

The New York Store also took part in the event and were competing against the Londoners. After much debating it turned out that both Cities drew and because of this we were all awarded with an amazing DKNY watch each!!

For the £600 Shopping Spree in store, Myself and another Freelancer, Emily were both level with three chocolates each and we are decided to share the prize(a leather bag for Fashion week is calling) so we will both be able to get something.

Once we had all finished running around, we each received a swag bag, full of Chocolate by the lovely Thorntons and Sunglasses which as perfect for this early Summer we are having.

Over all, it's been a fab Easter hunt and I can't wait to spend my £300 in store and wear my fab sunglasses and Watch - Hurray for DKNY!

Lazy Oaf Store event featuring Wah nails

Lazy Oaf were having a store event so of coure I had to go and have a look at the brands great product and have my nails done by some of the lovely girls from Wah Nails.
As well as some regular signture pieces, Lazy have a gorgeous array of prints including the Fox T-shirt dress and a ice-cream cone ttee which is so 80's and totally lustful.
I'm also loving their new ad campaign which has the right amount of American Vintage and style,  showing off the pieces perfectly.
All I can say now is, get shopping!

Bonjour Watermellon!

Chanel Press day for A/W 2011

After I was lucky enough to experience the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week, it was a treat to see the product, up close and in all it's splendor.  With the iconic symbol that graced jewellery and bags to the mannish footwear that embraces a more relaxed and urban look, Chanel was just as entertaining in a white room as it was on the catwalk - Simply beautiful.

New Designer sensation - Claire Garvey

Claire Garvey is the Dublin Store owner who captured original ideas and visions to make them her own. With dresses that are full of volume and passion, the silhouettes of these pieces are dramatic and perfect for a big entrance. With an romantic air that Juliet would call her own, these dresses are beautiful and timeless for today and tomorrow.
I have to say that I have fallen for the Mona Lisa print dress which looks modern yet focuses on such a old and historic style with an iconic print - All perfect for a stand-out-of-the-crowd dress.
If you are ever in Dublin, make sure you pay a visit to Claire's store and see this amazing designer and how she transforms dresses into a work of art.

An afternoon with AOFM (Academy of Freelance Make-up)

AOFM are the multi-talented Academy that offer courses and guidance for the future Make-up artists of the Fashion, Beauty and Bridal industry. From lessons in techniques to showing students the professional way to behave on a job, the AOFM are helping many hopefuls into one of the hardest industries in the UK. With Contacts at London Fashion week, the creators put forward their best students to experience backstage life and the chance for them to make contacts with other professionals in the field. With a great opportunity that many schools would never be able to offer, the AOFM is a great place to learn a new craft and develop your dreams into a reality.

Myself along with some other fashion writers and bloggers were invited down to the school to see the lay-out and speak to Jason and Jana who created AOFM.  As well as wanting to help develop Make-up artists skills, the duo want to show students the harsh reality of the Fashion Industry by adapting their attitude and helping them realise they need 100% commitment to excel in their chosen field.

As well as a look around, we were all offered a wonderful make over and I must say, that I really love the new look that I was given.

As well a some little furry friends, the AOFM really offers a unique opportunity that can benefit and give valuable experience to whoever wants to achieve the most out of their make up career. So on more information on this great Academy please check out their website here.
