James Long 22nd Sept LFW SS11

Menswear day at London Fashion week was full of different designers with their very different visions and I must say that James Long's new season line was commercial yet still had that designer edge that gave it that 'cool' factor. 

The Models had an air of relaxed, surfer dude's attitude and sported wavy hair for that LA boy feel.

Colourful Marble effect shorts with turned up bottoms, white zipped boiler suits, enough knitwear to stretch you into A/W and the coolest leather/fur jackets to grace the catwalks so far.

James Long's knitwear is definitely a feature of the collection. In a array of different colours and using ladder effect and many other techniques, they hold alot of interest and great to use as a base for any man's wardrobe.

What is also a plus about his new line is the fact that is can easily be worn by women which as a female bunni is a plus for me!
 

 

 

 

Osman 18th Sept LFW SS11

Osman, one of the most anticipated designers of LFW and I barely made it in! Just receiving my invite, 10 minutes before the show was scheduled to begin I was glad for all the running around.....The collection was minimal but beautifully crafted. 

The models had beary there make- up with long flowing her to match the pieces that the designer had created.

With the minimalism as a major inspiration, spring and summer colours incorporated with tailored waistcoats with tails which is a favorite of mine, triple frilled dresses in gorgeous lime and cape style tops over classic black trousers.

Even though it was not a far cry from workwear, the collection was relax, vibirate and yet cool at the same time.

I also likes the black maxi with the bright pink inset - perfect for those hot summer evenings with cocktails.

 

John Rocha 18th Sept LFW SS11

The pile up of people heading into the John Rocha show for London Fashion week was slightly worrying. As one of the biggest designers showing at LFW the urgancy to get in to the big black tent to see his show was incrediable but I made it.

Sat amoung the other press people on second row, the show was not a disappointment.  John Rocha's new season collection focus' more on the shape and cut of the clothing and accessories and by using black, cream and white as the primary colours, it helped show off the texture the designer used in his designs.

Pointelle dresses with a ra-ra finish, lace maxi's and net, layered dresses made for fairy princesses struted down the catwalk and all shouted volumes for sexy girls in beautfully crafted dresses.  The menswear was simply yet effective with smart tailoring with the designer's quiky details making it stand out among the rest.

A feature that appearred fequenty was the 'tent' style back that was used in blazers, dresses and even backpacks. This was a favorite amoung many, making the designers clothing stand out and have an extra interest.

Over all John Rocha's new line is fun and vibrate, just looking forward to what celebs will be wearing this soon.

Daks 18th Sept London Fashion Week SS11

Daks, the old and traditional London label of heritage that has had a revamp and a move on from their usual house check and basic tailoring. With Filippo Scuffi at the helm, Daks have taken a more contemporary yet classic direction for their new Spring/Summer collection.

With a very easy and laid back colour palit of mustard, cream, white, black and mink, the new Daks collection would easily fit into your new season Wardrobe.

There are a few different inspirations in the pieces, with a oriental influence in the wide sleeve blouse, loose cropped tailored trousers and white shirt dresses to the mannish texture of the blazers, knitwear Bodies and white golf Brogues.

There were also feminine shapes such as shift dresses with front pleats to cardigans and knee length skirts showing they have the foundations for a great summer wardrobe.

So with this new line, Daks are showing the fashion industry they are a ever changing brand with a lot more to surprise us, let's see how they do that next season.

Maria Grachvogel 17th Sept LFW SS11

Yellow was the summer sunshine of Maria’s catwalk collection. Along with this brave colour, neutral shapes of taupe, beige, white and cream graced the catwalk in forms of high waisted trousers in a 1970's inspired feel, lose fitted silk blouses and floaty maxi dresses.

Colours such as sea blue, navy and the designers signature prints were used on very simple styles that can be transformed as day to evening wear.  V neck, cape sleeves and ruched waist lines were some of the features used in the collection as well as split fronts and draped backs. It was all about the loose fitting and relaxed essence.

Maria Grachvogel has some truly gorgeous must have garments that all the top Editors will want for their next season. With her lose blazers and sleeveless dresses, this collection is perfect for your work wear.

Aminaka Wilmont 17th Sept LFW SS11

The ON/OFF venue was definitely the place to the see the more brave and creative designers and Aminaka Wilmont was no exception. The Designer's collection was beautifully created using black snake print, chiffon butterflies on shoes and pastel colours mixed for wrap dresses that were maxi and mini.

The most beautiful of these was the maxi, side split dress that had butterfly print chiffon cut into butterfly shapes that with created as a bodice.

The collection was very feminine with messy beehive hairdo's and natural make-up giving the feel of a very relaxed, girlie feel.

Metal embellishment was also used on jacket sleeves and shoulders for a slightly tougher image but the gorgeous dresses stole the show for me.
